  • Introduction to Reflective Practice in Early Childhood Education: a study guide and workbook (2012).  Jenny McClew, Kashmira Kambata and Joanne Ngatipa along with Jens Hansen. This publication is an instructional design book for students and ECE educators to learn more about the important role of reflection in their daily practice, and what is important when facilitating children’s learning.

  • Fresh Provocations: Rethinking practices in early childhood education (2012). Editors Dr Jens Hansen, Dr Bill Hagan, Lin Howie. This is our inaugural monograph that began with the 7th Annual MIT Early childhood Research Symposium. Over the years these symposia have brought together staff and student researchers to share their interests with the wider MIT early childhood community of practice, and the six contributors who presented their research are School of Education staff, graduates and an invited guest speaker.

  • Cheryl Greenfield’s Outside is where we need to be. A guide to providing optimal outdoor environments in early childhood settings (2011).This is the second edition of this book, the first having being published in 2007. This book will enable those responsible for the outdoor environment to be inspired to continually seek to provide an optimal outdoor environment for the children and adults within the early childhood setting. This second edition includes updated content based on the latest research, and new photographs taken in early childhood education centres around New Zealand.
